In the UK, if you eat at a pub there’s a good chance you’ll see a ploughman’s lunch on the menu. The inspiration comes from a storied, traditional farmer’s lunch of bread, cheese, and onions, eaten out in the field. These days, it’s common to add ham, pickles, or salad to fill out the meal.
While the idea is common fare, the ingredients here are anything but. Our colorful, cartooned gift box is filled with really good foods ready to eat straight from the box, whether out beside the plough or at the kitchen table. Includes Farm Bread, a half pound of Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, Blackberry Farm’s Smoked Onion Jam, La Quercia’s Prosciutto Americano, and a jar of Cornichon pickles.
