You could go there for a pastry or an espresso, but if you do that you’re missing the point. Angelina serves the best hot chocolate in Paris—and, I’m ready to throw down and say it, maybe the world.

Prepare the mix and serve it in a small ceramic pitcher with a mound of freshly whipped cream as big as your fist so you can make your own beverage as decadent as you can bear. The hot chocolate at Angelina is incredibly rich, with deep, intense chocolate flavor. Sipping a mug of it is an event to remember. But if a quick jaunt to Paris for a cup of hot chocolate isn’t an option, the next best option is to make it at home for yourself.
