Güeyu Mar is a seafood focused restaurant in Playa de Vega along the Asturian coast of northern Spain. They catch, grill, and serve fish straight from the sea—and they also preserve their creations in tins like this. Whole, local, fresh caught sardines are first grilled then smoked over select woods, then their tails are carefully removed and collected into this tin and packed in extra virgin olive oil.

The tails taste like an indulgence. Rich, buttery flavor with an equally luscious texture, the tails are beautiful laid out on a dish—oil and all—and served with crackers or crusty bread.
