A tried and true classic.
Our Rustic Italian bread is a classic Italian white bread with a mild crumb and a thin crust. It’s been a staple at our Bakehouse since they started baking bread three decades ago. It’s a relatively simple bread both in ingredients and appearance, but the flavor is a knockout.
There are only four ingredients.
The simple ingredients are organic wheat flour, water, salt, and yeast. We give those ingredients a lot of time to mix and mingle – specifically, we wait 15 hours for the yeast to do its job before baking. Out of the oven, the loaf looks fairly simple. A thick, golden brown crust with a gentle coating of flour on top hides a cream-colored crumb that is soft and fluffy. The flavor is almost sweet, naturally without sugar. It’s super appealing and versatile. From paninis to bruschetta, you can’t go wrong with this loaf.
