Challahs are made in various sizes and shapes, all of which have symbolic meaning. Braided loaves with intertwined strands have come to symbolize love as well as truth, peace, creation, freedom, harmony, family connection, unity, and justice. A beautiful braided challah is a lovely centerpiece for any table, regardless of tradition.
Our challah is made with organic wheat flour, fresh eggs, local Michigan honey, yeast, and a little corn oil. Rich but not too sweet, soft but sturdy, this loaf can hold up to all kinds of sweet and savory toppings.
Our challah is baked fresh before shipping and is best enjoyed within a day or two. We don’t recommend you freeze or reheat the challah in the oven because it doesn’t have a thick, crackly crust to keep the moisture in.
