Lemon Poppy Seed Coffee Cake

This is the secret sunrise snack of Zingerman’s regulars who happily bypass bagels and muffins for a slice. It’s made with real lemon oil, organic flour, loads of real butter, real vanilla and a veritable passel of Dutch poppy seeds. With none of the artificial aftertaste that most lemon-flavored pastries have, it tastes like biting into a perfect morning: sunny, rich, delicious.

Choose from the small "Nosher" (serves 5-7) or large "Fresser" (serves 10-12) sized cakes. Each comes gift boxed either in our wooden cheese crate (illustrated at right) or our fun, cartoon cardboard gift box.

This handmade coffee cake's ingredients are organic wheat flour (organic wheat, malted barley), sugar, sour cream, butter, fresh eggs, poppy seeds, Madagascar vanilla extract, pure lemon oil, baking soda, and sea salt.
