Awakened Salted Walnuts

What’s an “awakened” walnut and why would you want them? Awakening the nuts is a fancy name for the process of “sprouting” nuts and grains. The abridged version goes like this: soak raw nuts in water which triggers the germination process. This reduces the walnut’s enzyme inhibitors that make nuts hard for some of us to digest. They still taste like delicious walnuts, just easier for the body to process and more nutrients are accessible.

The organic walnuts are rinsed in a light Himalayan pink sea salt brine, then dried to give them a cracking good crunch on the outside and meaty walnut goodness on the inside. A snack and salad revelation.
