Confiserie Florian Fruit Jellies from Provence

Remember those unnaturally bright, chewy “fruit slices” that popped up in candy shops for Passover? They came in a rainbow of colors, yet they all looked like a generic citrus slice. I think of them this time of year, but then I remember what they tasted like. Not awesome.

Luckily the French confectioner, Confiserie Florian, is here to give our nostalgia a flavor upgrade. Instead of “chewy and teeth achingly sweet” like the old days, these jellies are jammy, luscious, and bursting with fruit flavor (not just sugar). Bonus: they actually look like pieces of mandarin, or raspberries, or black currant—well, the candy version at least.

Luckily you don’t have to remember old versions to appreciate this Provençal produced confection, so share it with old and young alike.
