Dried Mango from Taiwan

Dried mango times 1,000.

These two types of dried mango from Yun Hai are a world away from any dried mango you might find in the grocery. And although they’re the same tropical fruit, they taste as different as night and day. The dried Irwin mango comes in thick slices - each piece is one half of a mango. The texture is surprisingly plump and soft, and the deeply sweet flavor is purely mango with no added sweeteners or preservatives. The dried green mango is picked unripe so it hasn’t had time to develop that level of sweetness. Instead, it tastes just like sour gummy candy. Cut into strips and tossed with a touch of salt and sugar, it’s tart, chewy, and mouth-watering.

When I brought my first bag home, I carefully rationed each bite as a special treat. When it was nearly empty, I secretly hid the bag deep in my pantry to ensure no one else took the last piece. I’m not saying you shouldn’t share, but maybe think about buying an extra bag just in case.
