From France's Brittany coast near the town of Guérande, this is the salt harvested just below the layer of fleur de sel. Large grained and grey in color from marine minerals, it's less delicate than the fleur de sel but affordable enough for everyday eating. Instead of tasting “salty” it fills your mouth with the warm, round taste of the sea. It’s moister, more flavorful than regular sea salt and is a galaxy of flavor apart from standard table salt.
Great for use in stews, soups or any recipe that would benefit from large, coarse grains of salt.
