Guido Gobino Chocolate Extravaganza Assortment

Chocolate showstopper.

In Torino, Italy, bean to bar chocolatier Guido Gobino makes some of the most decadent chocolates I've ever tasted. What's a bean to bar chocolatier? While most chocolate makers start by buying chocolate that's already been blended from many sources, bean to bar chocolatiers start by going directly to the source of the cacao beans, often buying directly from single farmers and cooperatives. They then transform those raw cacao beans into chocolate. Having a hand in every part of the chocolate making process allows for more distinct subtleties and nuances to emerge in the flavor of the chocolate.

Most bean to bar chocolatiers take those unique chocolates and turn them into chocolate bars that highlight the beans. Guido Gobino takes their work a step further, transforming their chocolate into all sorts of luscious bonbons with additions like Piedmontese hazelnuts, Sicilian almonds, and more. Each one is made with the particular chocolate that most perfectly complements the other flavors, resulting in treats that are a real joy to eat.

This box of chocolates includes a huge variety of Guido Gobino's most spectacular chocolate creations. There are cremini: little cubes of chocolate mixed with ingredients from caramel to sea salt to hazelnut. There are Tourinots: bite-size chocolate morsels ranging from a white chocolate seasoned with orange zest and sea salt to a dark chocolate and hazelnut mixture that will knock your socks into next week. And for the purists, there are discs of single origin chocolates from Indonesia, Madagascar, and Venezuela.

All told, there are dozens of individually wrapped chocolates in this handsome box. It makes a stunning gift, and one that's easy to share with a crowd. Or you can hoard the treats for yourself—the chocolates will keep for months to come. (The current batch expires August 2025).

After our holiday 2024 catalog had been sent to the printer, we learned about a packaging change for these chocolates. They now come in an orange and white box. But the chocolates inside are just the same!
