Super Green Cremosa

Doug Zell and Chris St. Peter founded The Meteor cafe in Austin, Texas to satisfy their love of coffee, wine and bikes. Of course they serve breakfast tacos (everyone in Austin does) and that’s where the cremosa comes in. “That green creamy sauce is a thing in Austin, but not really anywhere else,” Doug explains. “The sauce makes the taco. It gives it personality and a way to stand out in the crowd.”

It helps other dishes stand out, too, not just tacos. Creamy, slightly spicy with a subtle kick of jalapeno, it’s an approachable, fun flavor that’s become a condiment I crave. Excellent for adding a bit of a kick to seafood, poultry, eggs, or sprinkled over nachos.
