Sweet & Salty Pistachio Shortbread Cookies

These shortbread cookies are uncomplicated and unfussy, made by hand in Traverse City, Michigan with just flour, butter, sugar, salt, and pistachios. But don’t let the simplicity fool you—these are some of the best shortbread I’ve eaten.

With a light sugary-salty coating that adds an extra layer of crunch, each buttery bite practically melts in your mouth. The pistachios are finely ground, adding nuttiness without affecting the texture too much.

My mom proclaimed them “dangerously delicious’’ after eating half of the bag, which is high praise from a picky eater (sorry Mom but it’s true). They’ve earned a spot on my go-to gifting list.
