OmNom Milk Chocolate Malt Balls

Visit Iceland, and you’ll see otherworldly landscapes, puffins, wool sweaters, dried cod, and OmNom chocolates. OmNom’s signature bright, geometric packaging shows up in gift shops, at museums, on billboards. From their chocolate factory in Reykjavík, OmNom makes bean to bar chocolates—that is, they work directly with the cacao farmers to bring in beans from the source. That allows them to find beans with specific flavors—some are more fruity, some more nutty, some more complex—to bring out just the impact they want in each of their bars and confections.

These crunchy, sweet milk chocolate covered malt balls won me over. They're reminiscent of the malt balls I grew up with, but taken to the next level. The airy crunch inside each glossy ball is a revelation in how good simple treats can be.

A great gift, sure, but I’d hide and hoard a bag for myself if I were you.
